Afrikaans: Lank terug, in November 2011, het ek die kans gehad om 'n paar dae op Maui deur te bring – dit was my eerste besoek in meer as 10 jaar en ek het al vergeet hoe lekker dit was. Ek het die normale dinge gedoen wat 'n Alaskiër in Hawaii sou doen, soos om te ontspan en 'n bietjie son te vang. Ek het die pad Hana toe gevat en met die verbode agterpad teruggekom – regtig glad nie so erg nie en die natuurskoon is asemrowend; die pad is soos sommige Bosdienspaaie hier. Beslis 'n plek waarna ek moet teruggaan!
English: Way back in November 2011 I had a chance to spend a few days on Maui - it was my first time there in over 10 years and I had forgotten how nice it was. I did the normal things an Alaskan going to Hawaii does like chill out and catch some sun. Took the road to Hana and came back the forbidden back road - it really isn't that bad at all and the scenery is stunning; the road is like some Forest Service roads here. This is definitely a place I need to go back to! |
